The Altar

What does it mean to build an altar to the Lord in our personal lives, in our families and in our wider ministries, and how do we do it? To live a life of worship, both personally and together with others, as we pursue Jesus with radical devotion. The Altar is a gathering on Friday evening and Saturday, where we’ll be talking through these questions, gathering for worship, teaching and encounter. We’ll be sharing some practical examples along these themes, as we seek to prepare the way for the Lord together in Brussels, Belgium and beyond.

Join us to seek the Lord and allow His presence to mark us.

Practical Information:

  • All are welcome – the main sessions will be in English with translation available into Dutch and French.
  • The event is free (voluntary gift at the meeting), but please let us know if you are coming so that we know how many people to prepare lunch for.
  • Register via email (thealtar@heartbeatchurch.be) indicating the name of each participant.
  • There is no child care. Please watch your own children, there is a room where you can go with them if they want to play or to change your baby.

If your cry is for more of the Lord and His presence in your life, we invite you to mark these days in your agenda!

Speakers:

Paul and Rachel Verheul:

Paul and Rachel have been leading worship together for over ten years. They were previously part of the leadership team of Brussels House of Prayer before the Lord moved them to the northern corner of the Netherlands, to help build an altar of worship with De Bloeiplaats: Modern-Day Monastery in Groningen. They long to see God’s people equipped and encouraged to live lives of radical devotion to Jesus. Paul also works as a visual artist.
