Hélène Dekker has studied French and Spanish literature at university in Brussels ; books, reading and writing have always been her passion. Born in Brussels from a Flemish father and a French-speaking mother, she willingly speaks the language of Molière and that of Vondel or Multatuli; she also writes, both in French and in English.
Her favorite expression is poetry, as the inspired words of the poet can sometimes carry the breath of the Spirit. Hélène particularly likes cross-arts: where writings and images reinforce each other, or when texts and music enter into a fruitful dialogue.
Over the years, she sharpened her pen in various writing workshops in Brussels and near Paris, and presented with a group of writing friends text shows (spectacles de textes) for almost ten years. For the past three years, she has also participated in the Week of Francophone Christian Composition (in the Belgian Ardennes, then near Lyon and near Aix-en-Provence).
